【A Field Day was organizied】

Good afternoon everyone.

During April and May, we organized two field days in two different locations. Field days are important events where we report on the progress of the project to farmers and various people involved in the project.

This time we would like to report on the first day, which took place on 28 April in the Enyazini area (where four toilets have already been constructed).

About 60 people participated in this event, including staff from the agricultural extension office in the area, our counterpart from the NGO Tiyeni, the village headman, and residents from the neighborhood. The farmers who owned the toilets explained how to use the Ecosan toilets, and how to make compost, and also introduced the crops they had actually grown with ELSaN compost (compost made from urine).

Participating farmers said,

“I was impressed by how well the maize grew.”

“I was impressed by the way the compost is made from human waste.”

These were some of the comments received.
